0UR PAST:OUR PRIDE

Cultural heritage has a universal value for individuals and societies. It is important to preserve and pass on to future generations. Cultural heritage shapes our identities and everyday lives. It surrounds us in Europe's towns and cities, natural landscapes and archaeological sites. It is not only found in literature, art and objects, but also in the crafts we learn from our ancestors, the stories we tell to our children, the food we enjoy in company and the films we watch and recognise ourselves in. In 2018, it will be celebrated our diverse cultural heritage across Europe. The aim is to encourage more people to discover with Europe's cultural heritage, and to reinforce a sense of common European space. Cultural heritage is; • tangible we will introduce buildings, monuments, clothing, artwork, books, machines, archaeological sites. • intangible and we will learn about practices, representations, knowledge, skills, instruments, cultural spaces, language, traditions, arts and crafts.
