NATURE DIGITAL COMBINES MATHEMATICS DEVELOPS

Preschool education period is one of the most important stages of raising children's awareness. The reason for this is that what children learn in this process leaves permanent traces in later ages. Positive attitudes towards the environment can also be easily developed during this period. Moreover, as environmental knowledge and sensitivity to the environment begin to take shape in children in the preschool period, it becomes easier to develop positive behaviors. It is inevitable that children in the pre-school education period, which can be considered as the first step of educational life, are curious and interested in technological products in terms of the features they have. Functions of technological products such as computers and tablets, such as colorful graphics, moving pictures, animations and videos, help preschool children achieve more fun and permanent learning by using their features such as curiosity, creativity, independence and discovery. At the same time, these technological products provide feedback when mistakes are made, allowing children to learn more accurately and in a shorter time (Demirel, Seferoğlu & Yağcı, 2004; Uluser-İnan, 2003). Many studies show that the use of technology in preschool education positively affects children's learning and increases their motivation (Çakıroğlu & Taşkın, 2016; Huffstetter, King, Onwuegbuzie, Schneider &. Powell-Smith, 2010; Kocaman-Karoğlu, 2016; Şahin, 2006; Wolgemuth , et al., 2011). Considering all these issues, it is important to use technology as a supporting element in pre-school education. In addition, the preschool period is the period in which the child, who is just beginning to explore the world with curiosity and excitement, acquires many important skills. The education given during this period will affect many of the child's sociological, psychological, cognitive or mental development and will be reflected in his adulthood. Mathematics education is one of the education that the child must receive in order to effectively support his development in the pre-school period, when he begins to recognize, question and explore his environment. Our project aims to make mathematics education more effective in the preschool period with content suitable for environmental education and the use of correct technology. We will provide permanent mathematics education by ensuring the continuity of children's connections with the environment, with teachers and teaching practices that create the right digital content for their interests, and by involving families in the education process. The work plan and activities to be carried out will be updated when the project partners are determined.
