We "Live" Stories

Storytelling brings language learning alive and creates a participatory and immersive experiences that allows Young Learners to enjoy hearing the language in a dynamic and entertaining way. They can help children learn new words, improve their grammar, and develop their reading skills. Not only do stories introduce new vocabulary, but they give children opportunities to use them in various contexts. Storytelling can also help children learn how to express their emotions in a healthy way. The storytelling technique is known to be one of the most effective teaching strategies. The main benefits of the storytelling technique are: high motivation and active participation, a boost of creativity, cooperation between children, deepening the understanding of a subject, and an increase in attention span. Our project is going to be based on storytelling and we will be doing a story every month and combining it with the key areas of development which are: personal, social and emotional development; communication, language and literacy development; mathematical development; physical development; creative development; and knowledge and understanding of the world. In order to do this, we will be creating activities that cater for the development of these areas such as crafts, messy play, literacy activities, numeracy activities, physical activities, role plays etc. e-safety would be taken into consideration throughout this project, starting by sending consent forms to parents. A common end product will be shared as part of the dissemination
