CHILDREN OF THE EARTH

n the study, disaster and emergency protection skills specific to earthquake were addressed in line with the needs and capacities of the autism spectrum disorder group. Within the scope of the study, individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were evaluated specifically for the earthquake disaster by considering the risk and destructive effects of the disaster. The main purpose of the study is to organise the appropriate behaviour forms that should be done during and after a possible earthquake for individuals with ASD and their families, and in this way, to reduce the damages that may be caused by the earthquake by increasing the level of disaster awareness and resilience in individual and social sense. The other aim of the study is to create a resource for professionals working in the field and for new studies to be carried out on the process of disaster and emergency protection skills for disabled individuals. Within the framework of these objectives, the stages of the disaster management model were evaluated specifically for the earthquake disaster, disaster training strategies for disabled individuals were handled in a holistic manner, and disaster management sensitive to OSB was organised specifically for the earthquake.
