The Erasmus+ policy experimentation project focused on supporting the development of teachers’ social and emotional competences and diversity awareness (SEDA). The project put teachers' wellbeing at the centre by highlighting the importance of developing their SEDA competences.

The project developed the ‘Hand in Hand’ programme, which aims to empower teachers for the complexity of everyday working life in increasingly diverse classrooms. The programme helps teachers meet the challenges of teaching in diverse societies, and supports them to monitor and plan their career, with the general aim of improving teacher retention.

The project outputs include the training programme manual (available in English, Croatian, German, Portuguese, Slovenian and Swedish) and several video tutorials and webinars. It has also published policy recommendations targeting EU level and national education systems. The project, its outcomes and policy impact are described in detail in two scientific monographs

The project was built on the success of a previous initiative that focused on social and emotional skills for tolerant and non-discriminative societies
