Do you know the story, 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers? (the trailer can be found here: https://vimeo.com/93123698) It is about a boy and a penguin who become friends. Classes would read the story and watch the short DVD and discuss what it's like to feel lonely, have friends, care for something and belong somewhere. Each class would follow on from this by making a penguin and on the back/ inside would state where the penguin has come from; the school, town and country, and a greeting in the language of their country. The Penguins would then be sent to all the schools taking part in the project, so each school would receive a penguin from each school taking part. The ideas is that the Penguins 'return', like in the story. This is a simple project, But it would help to develop young children's awareness of the world. We hope you will join us on our journey!
