Schools for Health in Europe

Established in 1991 as a WHO-supported initiative, SHE includes 31 member countries across Europe and Central Asia. SHE supports its members in advancing and sustaining school health promotion through a European platform. SHE was supported by the European Union’s Health Programme between 2014 and 2020.
The SHE online platform offers a range of resources for school health promotion in multiple languages, including guides on how to be a health promoting school, teacher resources for primary and secondary education and informational factsheets.
Its glossary improves understanding by providing definitions, while various materials and tools facilitate the implementation of health initiatives and improve student health education. Conference statements share key messages and proposed actions from European health-promoting schools, and case stories illustrate how schools engage in health promotion and collaborate with their communities. The platform also features academic links to relevant publications. Lastly, twinning encourages school partnerships to exchange ideas and collaborate on health-related projects.
