The project is about the meaning of borders for people who live on the border and perceive it not only as a geographical fact but as part of their cultural identity. We will look at border communities both in Italy and the Czech Republic. Our students will do some research on the history of these communities not only through historical sources but also interviewing people that belong to these communities. They will try to understand how a life on the border can impact the lives of local communities and their relationship with their country at large also in a historical perspective. Students will record and film the interviews and they will shoot a brief video of their visit to these communities. Their videos will be sent to the House of European history in Brussels
