Challenge 2: Emotions through poetry

Created by IDOIA ZAPIRAIN

E-EMOTIONS

We started with the poem "Compass" by Amanda Gorman and now we are going to concentrate on emotions and feelings through poetry by sharing some poems by our national poet(s). For this task we are going to ask the help of the literature teachers in our schools to help us choose some native poems.

Challenge 2: Emotions through poetry

This challenge has different parts:

1. Each class suggests some poems by their national poet(s). The poem(s) should either contain the word 'compass' or could be understood as a kind of compass that can lead us through life. The poems will be translated into English and share here on this Padlet.

DEADLINE: share the poems and translate them into English before the Christmas/Winter holidays.

2. Then, classes will be paired (first class who is ready chooses the poems from a partner) and translate the poems into their native languages.

DEADLINE: a couple of weeks after the winter break (January)

3. Summarsing our poetic compass. Our poetic compass page 5.3

This part will be devoted to creativity and will be carried out in international teams. Students will be working in 10 mixed international teams that they choose according to their own preferences and abilities.

Each international team is going to write a Comp@ss poem together. Each class adds a verse consisting of 4 lines. The rhyme pattern should be ABAB. Students can use the Rhyme Zone. Later we will turn it into a poetic eBook. The coordinator teacher uses Canva IA Text to Image Tool and illustrates the poem with her class.
