Climate Change and COP28: The Race Against Time

Created by Anita SIMAC
Last updated by Anita SIMAC 1 year 3 months ago

The 3-hour webinar briefly introduces the ERASMUS+ project “Climate change & STEM education in classrooms”, discussing the main causes and consequences of climate change, providing examples of mitigation and adaptation strategies and explaining the main results of COP28.

COP28 (28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) took place in Dubai at the end of 2023. The aim of the conference was to address the climate crisis, trying to find common ground on how to limit the rise in temperature to 1.5°C. COP28 is a race against time and against ourselves, against the dangerous idea that we can't do anything or that nothing is being done. Unlike most races, this one won't have winners and losers. In this race, we all win or we all lose. Winning it requires a radical and unprecedented level of collaboration involving every corner of our planet.
