The Art of Helping

Too often the trend in our society, including young people - our students, is to be separated from each other, to be indifferent to their neighbours, collegues, families, people in need. Cars and phones have taken most of us off the streets, where we used to greet each other and stop to chat.Television has planted us firmly in our living rooms, instead of out with other people. Even cinemas, where many people get together, cut us off from true conversation because we’re staring at a big screen. We tend to be focused on ourselves to the exclusion of our fellow human beings. The tendency towards selfishness rather than giving, on helping ourselves rather than helping our brothers and sisters in humanity. In our project we want to change that. We need this project "to melt young people hearts", to include them fully into neighbourhoods and societies. We want to teach them to help, teach them to be inovlved. We would also like to attract the attention of the local and European society to the local and global problems and at the same time to find common solutions with the help of voluntary work in international cooperation. During the cooperation we can get ideas mutually, which we will make regular practice locally by preparing teaching materials, incorporating voluntary work into school Curriculum. It will ensure that the activities carried out during the project will also continue in the future. The participants of the project can experience the problems and dangers emerging in other countries. The common work carried out in several fields will strengthen the European way of thinking and social sensitiveness. The activities will contribute to the development of transversal and personal competences and foreign language skills of the participants with the help of which they can establish their future success in the labor market. We regard the students who take part in the project, the students and parents of the participating schools as the target groups-those who are the most influenced by the project, and also the local and European societies, whom we want to influence with our dissemination work and to affect them. We regard involving students with disadvantaged background and low skills one of our main aims. By involving them into the common activities they will be able to become the active members of the society.
