Latest on inclusive education from the European Toolkit for Schools

It is time to share the latest updates from the European Toolkit for Schools, which continues its endeavour to help schools to improve attendance, reduce dropout and promote inclusion.

A new “good practice” video showcases how the Boa Àgua school cluster in Portugal improved their situation by involving parents and the local community. The school cluster got support from the INCLUD-ED project, helping them to change their processes and engage parents to obtain better attendance and school achievement. The video is subtitled in 29 languages.

Two webinars on inclusive education are scheduled. The first one will focus on how to prevent gender violence in schools (on Friday, 3 December at 16:00 CET), and the second one will address well-being and mental health in schools (on Friday, 10 December at 16:00 CET). Join to learn more on these important topics from distinguished experts!

New resources have also been added this year. For example, you can read about the Fuoriclasse model in Italy, which supports young people’s motivation to study and learn; Sindbad in Germany, which offers a 1:1 mentoring programme of 8-12 months for young people from different backgrounds; or the inScool methodology, which empowers schools across Europe to adopt inclusion practices. All new resources include a basic description in 29 languages and further information in English.

Last but not least, the Toolkit’s self-assessment tool on inclusion in and around schools is available to help users reflect on their school’s policies and practices and discover ways to improve them. It is based on the NESET analytical report Structural indicators for inclusive systems in and around schools. Login is needed to use the tool.
