The Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions fund excellent young researchers, enabling them to study a topic in depth that they care about. Science is Wonderful! is the European Commission’s annual science fair, which connects European schools with this research.

In addition to the science fair, Science is Wonderful! provides a searchable platform of teaching resources, games and videos, prepared by the participant scientists for teachers to use in their classrooms.

There are activities in English and other European languages, including a number that are available in all EU languages, and search can be filtered by language, subject, pupil age group and format (video, game, or quiz).

For example, the game Spacebound: the lost astronomer, which was selected as one of the three best proposals to the European Commission’s ‘Experiment for the Classroom’ programme in 2022. It provides an instructional video and materials to help teachers and pupils complete a series of experiments to unearth clues to help bring a lost astronomer home safely.
