Daily programme:
Day 1
Participants’ arrival
Individual orientation and information about the venue and the city
Individual expectations, setting goals for the week
Reflection on current teaching practices
Why and how can PBL be used
Teaching in a PBL classroom
Day 2
Create a challenging and authentic PBL learning experience
Construct high impact content and activities
Balance, structure and flexibility to co-create with students
Connecting 21st century skills to PBL design
Day 3
Set up a space that promotes risk-taking
Increase students' engagement: from "May I" to "How and Why"
How to drive students' learning through feedback
Thinking across disciplines: a cross-curriculum approach to PBL
Day 4
Nurture a PBL culture in your school
Shift the ownership of assessment
Tracking and assessing progress
Re-inventing PBL with RWL (Real World Learning)
Day 5
Presentation of the lesson plans
Space for discussion of future cooperation and planning follow up activities
Course roundup and final evaluation
Validation of learning outcomes and certification ceremony

Learning objectives
Throughout this course, participants will learn the ins and outs of the approach of project-based learning (PBL) by:
- Mastering the specificity and requirements of the PBL approach
- Identifying the needs of students and choosing the right key issues
- Assessing the right content and use of authentic materials in class.
- Analysing the roles of teachers and students in PBL.
- Collaborating with their colleagues to create the ultimate lesson plan based on PBL method.
Methodology & assessment
Led by professionals of education with a real experience of teaching, the course will take the form of hands-on workshops with exchanges of practices, brainstorming, analysis and real case scenario examples, participants will reflect on the tools and strategies that will make an impact in their daily practice. A great emphasis will be therefore put on collaboration and interaction between participants to create relevant resources and projects that each of them will be able to take back to school.
Certification details
Each participant will be granted a Certificate of Attendance as well as Certificate of Obtained Competences.
If requested - a Europass Mobility Certificate will be issued.
