Description

Outdoor learning is an educational approach that takes place outside of the traditional classroom setting and uses the natural environment as a context for learning. It involves incorporating nature, outdoor spaces, and real-world experiences to facilitate the teaching and learning process. Outdoor learning can take various forms, from short nature walks to extended field trips and outdoor classrooms. This approach is increasingly recognized for its numerous benefits on students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

The training course will be conducted predominantly outdoors, offering hands-on experiences and practical workshops in natural settings. Participants will actively engage in outdoor activities, discussions, and group exercises to experience the benefits of outdoor learning firsthand. Expert facilitators will share theoretical insights, showcase successful case studies, and guide educators in developing effective outdoor learning strategies.

Methodology & assessment

The Outdoor Learning course employs an experiential and inquiry-based methodology, immersing participants in hands-on outdoor activities that stimulate curiosity and engagement. Through nature walks, team-building exercises, ecological investigations, and reflective discussions, we nurture a holistic understanding of the environment. Assessment is approached through observation, reflective journals, group projects, and discussions, allowing participants to showcase their understanding of outdoor concepts, teamwork, and the application of experiential learning principles.

Certification details

Certificates will be delivered in hard copy format and will include information about the course title, participant name, organization name (host and sender), duration, number of training hours, and the main topics covered in the course. The certificates are signed both by the administrator of the host organisation and by the trainer.
