From Roots to Futures is a dynamic training course designed for teachers, educators, and adult learners who seek to revitalize cultural heritage education through innovation. Participants will explore how digital technologies—such as augmented reality, digital storytelling, and interactive media—can be used to preserve and teach cultural heritage in inclusive and engaging ways. The course offers hands-on workshops, collaborative project development, and real-world case studies to inspire participants to create meaningful, future-oriented cultural learning experiences.
A distinctive feature of the course includes outdoor activities and experiential learning sessions held in some of Istanbul’s most iconic cultural heritage sites, offering participants direct interaction with living history and inspiring spaces. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role of cultural heritage in education and identity formation.
- Explore innovative methods (e.g., digital storytelling, AR/VR, participatory tools) to teach cultural heritage.

Participants will explore and practice with a focused selection of innovative tools to enhance cultural heritage education. These include Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications for immersive learning experiences; Google Arts & Culture for accessing global cultural content; Canva for visual storytelling and resource creation; AI-powered tools for content generation and idea development; and Padlet for collaboration and interactive reflections. All participants who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance, which includes the participant’s full name, course title, training dates, location, and the official stamp and signature of the hosting organization.

Course package content:
The standard course package includes full participation in the training program, access to all course materials and digital tools, daily coffee breaks, and one guided cultural event in Istanbul. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance and gain access to a shared resource folder for continued use.
