EDINA: The EDucation of International Newly Arrived Migrant Pupils (EDINA) project is a European initiative aiming to improve the educational experience of migrant pupils. It involves policymakers, schools, and researchers from various countries. The project aims to promote good practices, provide accurate data on newcomer student reception, and enhance teachers' competencies through online tools and training modules. The consortium includes local authorities, schools, and researchers from The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, and Spain.

 

Schools of Sanctuary: The School of Sanctuary is an educational program aimed at creating a welcoming and inclusive environment in schools. It educates students and staff about providing sanctuary, especially to refugees and migrants. The program emphasizes the importance of diversity, and addressing prejudice and racism. Schools can become a Member School of Sanctuary or a Champion School of Sanctuary, embedding principles of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Cosmin Nada

Cosmin Nada is an education expert based at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology, at ISCTE (University Institute of Lisbon). With over a decade of experience in educational research, Cosmin focuses on migration and education, diversity and inclusion, early school leaving, social justice, educational policies, and wellbeing in education. Cosmin’s work is interdisciplinary and intersectoral, bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice through his collaborations with relevant national and international organisations working on education, through roles such as Senior Consultant for the European Commission Working Groups on Schools, Pathways to School Success, and Editorial Board member of the European Toolkit for School Success.
