Description
Grounded in the core values of the European Union—respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights— citizenship education promotes a society characterised by pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity, and gender equality.
Citizenship education focuses on preparing students to become active, informed, and responsible citizens. This involves equipping them with the necessary competencies to contribute to the development and well-being of society and secondary and IVET educators are key factors in this process.
eTwinning enhances awareness of cultural diversity and shared European heritage and also equips teachers and students with skills for responsible, inclusive global citizenship.
