By focusing on eTwinning Ambassadors as advocates of the whole-school approach to well-being, this 3-day onsite event aims at fostering a culture of positive mental, emotional, and social health within the eTwinning community. Through collaboration and shared commitment, we can amplify the impact of eTwinning, creating a more supportive and enriching environment for educators and students alike.

About the speakers

Electra Bada

Electra Bada, Ph.D., is a cultural anthropologist at the Institute of Child Health, Department of Social and Developmental Pediatrics, Greece. She is the Greek national coordinator of Schools for Health in Europe Network Foundation (SHE), specializing in supporting a whole school approach and health promoting schools. Electra is part of SHE working teams developing Standards and Indicators for health promoting schools at a European level. Her work focuses on teacher training in health promotion, developing and implementing social and emotional learning programs in schools using participatory methods. Her research interests include Mindfulness education for children’s wellbeing, school health promotion, social identity and representation, migrant mothers and breastfeeding practices. She has taught as a lecturer at the University of Thessaly and at the Ionian University, Greece. Electra has produced and directed audiovisual TV social messages promoting children’s public health with youth participation

Dr. Stavroula Bargiota studied Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and was specialised in Psychiatry-Psychotherapy. She owns a MSc in Primary Health Care and a PhD in Psychiatry. She works at her two own clinics, “ Medical Institute of Psychotherapy, Education and Research”- “Ψ Medical Institute” in Thessaloniki and in Larissa, Greece. 

She has worked for years as a clinical psychiatrist to the Community Health Clinic examining and treating about 150 patients per week with depressive and anxiety disorders. She has been an honorary Specialty Registrar at the Early Intervention pathway of South London and Maudsley Hospital in London and a visitor researcher at the Psychosis Studies Department, IoPPN, King’s College London. 

She is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece. She is a scientific associate at Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, responsible for research projects and for the training of medical students and resident psychiatrists. Her research interests include treatment- resistant depression, biomarkers, linguistic indicators for early detection of depression, resilience in depressive and bipolar disorders, early intervention in psychosis.. Her articles have been published in Greek and International journals and she has taken part with oral or poster presentations, workshops, and satellite symposiums in numerous local and foreign congresses. 

She has been invited to speak to TEDxTalks, Reworks festival , masterclasses , educational events and several scientific tv and radio broadcasts. 

Margarita Samoutian

Margarita Samoutian has been a preschool teacher in the Kindergarten of Avlonari in Greece since 2012. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education Science in Early Childhood from Democritus University and a master's (MSc) in Counseling from the University of Thessaly. In 2015, she became a member of the eTwinning community implementing more than 20 collaborative projects. In 2021 and 2022, she was awarded the 1st European eTwinning Prize for the projects “eTreeHuggers: 1,2, tree hug the trees with me” and “STEAM Preschool Academy” and the National eTwinning Prize the projects “Eco Tweet: Little Scientists” and “Ecomates: Little Detectives”. Her school was also nominated with EITA 2022 for the project “Happy School through SEL” which she coordinated. This year, her team received  the European eTwinning Prize 2023: Innovation & Education for the project “STEAM Preschool Academy” which was selected among the best eTwinning projects over the last three years for the age category 0-6. She has been an eTwinning ambassador, a Scientix ambassador and a EU Code Week Leading Teacher since 2020. She speaks English, French and Spanish. She is passionate about the development of a sustainable community that nurtures students’ talents through interdisciplinary activities and experiential learning, creating inclusive opportunities based on their everyday life.

Athanasia Zafeiropoulou ICT and Physics teacher Lower Secondary Education, eTwinning ambassador

Athanasia has been an experienced ICT teacher in Greek Secondary Education since 1994. With a background in Physics and advanced degrees (MSc) in Control and Computing as well as (MA) in Education, she recognizes the importance of integrating “real-world” applications into her lessons, not only to enhance academic understanding but also to provide students with practical skills that contribute to their holistic development. Her enthusiastic involvement in educational initiatives such as eTwinning, Code Week, and Scientix, showcases her commitment to fostering an innovative and engaging learning environment. Due to her role as an eTwinning ambassador she seizes any opportunity to share her passion for collaborative trans-curricular projects with other like-minded teachers.

He strongly believes in developing scientific vocations among his students and has been involved in many european STEM and Erasmus+ projects.​He is an eTwinning, Scientix and FCL ambassador and moderates the Basic skills featured group.

Alexandra Almpanidou is working as a Pedagogical Coordinator for the European Commission's European School Education Platform. She has a Master of Educational Sciences in Curriculum Design and Innovation. As part of her work, she has been coordinating the development of professional development workshops and conferences for teachers, designing and moderating online courses as well as creating material for MOOCs. She also contributes to the Future Classroom Lab team, leading on-site workshops and coordinating the Network of Innovative Learning Labs and Spaces.

Aida Lumshi follows the philosophy "to provide quality educational experiences, in order to enable my students to achieve a complete intellectual, physical, emotional, social, cultural and moral development"
Her notable achievements include serving as the Ambassador of the Twinning platform in Europe for 2017-2018, representing Albania. Aida is also a certified trainer for the British Council and works as a Consultant for Coding Clubs in schools. She is a lead teacher for Albania's engagement in the Codeweek Europe campaign and has received certificates of excellence from 2018-2021. Aida has participated in national and international trainings, conducting workshops for diverse participants, including new teachers, TTI students, VET leaders and teachers.

Georgia Maneta is an EFL Educator from Greece. She has been teaching English for over 20 years and for the past 12 years she has been working in State Primary Schools. She holds an MA in Literature in English (Dalarna University, Sweden) and she is currently finishing her MSc in Immersive Technologies in Education (International Hellenic University, Greece)

She has been an eTwinning Ambassador since 2019 and has been effectively organizing workshops on the good use of the ESEP platform and on Web Tools. She firmly believes that eTwnning in the way to innovate teaching and learning and a great stepping stone for professional and personal development.

Stavroula Lada is a primary school teacher in Greece. She teaches greek language, maths, history, physics, geography, environmental studies, religion and skill labs. Her students are between 6 and 12 years old. Stavroula speaks greek, english, french, italian, some spanish and russian. She holds 2 masters in educational psychology & in special education, as well as in educational consulting and mentoring. She is also a computer programmer and she likes ICT. She has been an eTwinning Ambassador in Greece (2015-17) and 2022 until today. Stavroula is also a Scientix ambassador and has been nominated as a Microsoft Innovative Educator since 2019. She loves eTwinning because it is a great educational world for her and her students. For Stavroula, eTwinning is collaboration, inspiration, creativity and innovation.

Matina Kouvari

Dr. Matina Kouvari (F), MSc, PhD is a Research Associate in Epidemiology at HUA and a Collaborating Researcher in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School. She holds a BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics from HUA, where she was ranked 1st in the class and an MSc (hons) in Clinical Nutrition from HUA. Her PhD was in CVD epidemiology and risk prediction models focusing on sex/gender differences. She has an active role in prospective epidemiological studies in CVD primary and secondary prevention spectrum. Dr Kouvari has 40 original research papers in international journals and about 100 scientific presentations in CVD and public health national and international congresses. She has participated in 8 international projects (H2020, Erasmus+, DG SANTE) in the field of public health and personalized nutrition either as a Project Manager or Research Fellow. For her academic performance she has received 6 awards and 6 fellowships.

Nicoleta Militaru

Nicoleta Militaru has been teaching English for 20 years and has been working with all age categories of students from 6 to 19 years old, including SEN children integrated in the mass education system. She's also an eTwinning ambassador and Erasmus+ project coordinator and ambassador who is interested in finding new strategies for making the teaching job more interesting for both teachers and students. Nicoleta graduated from a pedagogical high school which made a whole difference to her professional evolution. She has also hosted various eTwinning events both online and face-to face and she has been the key speaker in European events.  Lastly, Nicoleta also trained teachers during the pandemic period in order to facilitate their access to online education and the strategies to be used in online and hybrid classes.

Zoi Gallou is a Secondary Education, Social and Political Education and Career Orientation Teacher at a Junior High School in Larissa, Greece. From 2017 she is a certified eTwinning Ambassador in the regions of Larisa and Magnesia and a trainer for educators.  Her professional experiences include working as a lawyer and a teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management in Education from the University of Roma TRE, a Law Degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Degree in Educational Studies from ASPAITE. She is also certified in teaching English and French. Her career in education started in 2006 with extensive experience in project participation. She is a strong advocate for continuous professional development and has actively participated in numerous seminars and workshops on ICT, eTwinning, Erasmus+, environmental education, SEL and digital tools. She has received 16 National eTwinning Quality Labels and 8 European eTwinning Quality Labels. She is the Erasmus+ coordinator of her school and since 2015 in her school community they have successfully finalised 7 Erasmus+ projects (5 school partnerships/ 2 for teacher training) and they are now working on the Erasmus+ accreditation.

Natalia Tzitzi is from Aegina, a small island in the Saronic Gulf, close to Peiraias, the central harbour of Greece. She is the headteacher  at the 13th Helioupolis Primary School in a town close to the city centre of Athens. After completing her master’s degree (MEd in TEFL), she was looking for something fun and motivating for her students and challenging for her to do in class. That’s when she came across eTwinning and it was ... love at first sight! Ever since she joined the eTwinning action back in 2005, she has had the opportunity to work with fellow eTwinners from all over Europe (and beyond) on a variety of project topics experimenting and/or fully integrating different teaching methods.

Maria Vasilopoulou comes from Athens, Greece. She teaches English at the 3rd Junior High School of Acharnes. She holds a   Diploma for Overseas Teachers of English, University of Cambridge,(RSA).She joined eTwinning  in 2012, became an ambassador for two years and offered onsite and online training to teachers. Since 2020 has been  a member of the Project Core team  in the National Support Service Organisation. As an addicted lifelong learner she has attended a plethora of professional development events at National and International level

Marta Giuliani
Host

Marta Giuliani, Community Coordinator of eTwinning, joined the team in 2019 bringing her experience and enthusiasm in the field of communications. Prior to join EUN she worked for the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN Europe) as a communication intern. She holds a B.A. Degree in Social Sciences and a MA Degree in Communications for International Relations. She took part in several international voluntary projects in the field of education. In 2016 she went to Senegal to take part in a project which involved the construction of a primary school for the children of Dakar slums. Marta speaks Italian, English and some basic French.
