Teachers and adult education trainers need to develop their personal and social skills in order to understand the very different realities of their learners that come from vulnerable backgrounds or are at risk of exclusion. The participants will acquire new learning-by-doing techniques and tools to break the barriers and stereotypes and generate a humanistic learning environment.
Description
Nowadays, teachers and adult education trainers face very diverse profiles of students from vulnerable backgrounds and groups in risk of exclusion (refugees, migrants, learners with special needs, difficult socio-economic situations, women dealing with domestic violence, persons with literacy challenges, seniors, etc)
This course is for teachers wanting to learn about alternative methodologies that can be used to adapt teaching to the needs of learners from vulnerable backgrounds. They will experience examples of activities that can be designed to support increasing diversity in nowadays society focusing on learning-by-doing and interactive exercises in small groups.
The course is also suitable for non-teaching staff, as it focuses on improving soft skills such as empathy, tolerance, communication etc.
