Description

This course provides teachers with:

  • a range of new ideas, practical classroom skills and materials for teaching English to pupils with special needs
  • an opportunity to improve their own language skills and to acquire language for the classroom
  • an insight into Special Education in Ireland
  • an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop links with teachers from other European countries

Learning objectives

The course aims to provide teachers with:

  • an insight into Special Education and Inclusion in Irish Schools
  • an opportunity to gain new teaching ideas and techniques for working with and motivating pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • an opportunity to compare the teaching in different European countries, to exchange good practices, share experiences and develop links with teachers from other European countries

Methodology & assessment

- Courses are delivered by education professionals with many years’ experience of teaching and training EU funded teachers
- Practical workshops are tailored to the participants’ training needs
- Plenty of practical ideas will be demonstrated and considered and teachers will be encouraged to participate in and reflect on learning and tasks designed for students.
- Collaborative working
- Feedback and guidance from trainers
- At the end of the course teachers participate in a detailed evaluation of the course

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants will be provided with physical and digital materials.

Digital resources will be shared and created together with participants and the trainer will provide a bank of websites and reference materials for further professional development.

Certification details

  • A certificate of attendance (stating course, location, dates, content, learning outcomes and number of hours) will be provided as required by the Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1 (learning mobility of individuals)
  • Erasmus+ documentation will be validated
  • Teachers will be provided with advice on how to complete their Learning Agreements if requested

    •    2,195 Euro – Course with 13 nights full board host family accommodation (Single rooms. All meals provided)
    •    2,239 Euro - Course with 13 nights self-catering accommodation in central university residence (single ensuite rooms)

  • Cancellation & changes:

    Full payment will be due 2 months before the course begins, or for teachers awaiting funding: as soon as the grant is received.

    100% refund for cancellations more than 5 weeks before arrival. No refund for cancellations within 5 weeks of arrival. Changes and substitution of teacher may be possible.
