Smart Teachers Play More in Iceland with a school visit: How to integrate play, movement, and well-being in education
Discover the Smart Teachers Play More (STPM) approach in Iceland, combining movement, storytelling, and mindfulness to create dynamic, engaging classrooms. This 7-day course is designed for primary and early secondary educators, offering inclusive hands-on strategies to boost student well-being, cognitive development, and academic performance through innovative teaching techniques.
Description
Enhance teaching practices with the Smart Teachers Play More (STPM) approach—an innovative method combining play, movement, and mindfulness to improve student engagement and well-being. Designed by Kristín Einarsdóttir and Sarah Jane Anthony, experts with over 20 years of experience in European education, the course integrates multisensory activities to support visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Backed by the latest research in neuroscience, participants will explore physical games, storytelling techniques, and calming strategies to teach academic subjects through play. School visits highlight Iceland’s focus on holistic education and physical activity. Educators leave with practical resources, tools, and gamification ideas to create inclusive, interactive classrooms. Through collaborative planning and cultural activities, participants develop confidence to implement STPM techniques and build partnerships for future projects.
