Under the Erasmus Quality Standards we have organized and created this course aiming helping teachers to have more engaged students, to feel more at ease with their work, to share experiences and ideas with others.   

 

  • COURSE PROGRAM
  • DAY 1 

    Introduction to project-based learning (PBL)

  • What is PBL?
  • The Pros and Cons on using this approach.
  • What are the main challenges when using it in the classroom.
  • The essential elements of PBL: Project vs Problem;
  • The driving question, project planning, learning goals, products and presentations and the assesment: planification of a PBL.

 

  • DAY 2 (4 hours)

      Designing and implementing a PBL project

  • Using the 7-Phase Model and Essentials for the project;
    • Choosing a driving question;
    • Developing a project plan;
    • Setting learning goals;
    • Creating products and presentations;
    • Assessing student learning;
  • Tips for managing a PBL project;
    • Setting clear expectations;
    • Providing scaffolding and support;
    • Facilitating collaboration;
    • Handling Challenges.

 

  • DAY 3 (4 hours)

  • Using technology in PBL

  • How technology can support PBL;

  • Choosing the right tools;

  • Integrating technology into the project;

  • Case study of a successful PBL implementation;

 

  • DAY 4 (5 hours)
  • Sharing PBL projects
  • Presentations of PBL projects
  • Finding opportunities to share projects
  • The potential of PBL
  • The challenges of PBL
  • The future of PBL in education

Learning objectives

  • Understand the concepts of Project Based Learning

  • Use key concepts to frame and communicate projects

  • Practice with several learning tools: Team Canvas, Vision Board, OpenAI;

  • Try different methods of teaching: Project Based Learning; Problem Based Learning;

  • Learn how to guide real-life projects and the transition to school;

All the courses are designed following the Quality Standards for courses under Key Action 1 and participants are provided with certificates that meet the Europass criteria.
We believe in a hands-on course for all the courses we create. In our courses you will experience, not only subjects that are relevant and lifelong learning material, creating lesson plans, activities that you can use and share with your colleagues back home.
We demand our trainers that our courses to be fun taking, interesting and active.

In this course, participants will learn how to give their students the skills they need to succeed in school and in life, namely:
Problem-solving: Identify problems, gather information, brainstorm solutions, and evaluate the effectiveness of their solutions.
Collaboration: How to work effectively with others, share ideas, and build consensus.
Critical thinking: Analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make informed decisions.
Creativity: Think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to problems.
Communication: Developing their oral and written communication skills so that they can effectively share their ideas with others.

All the courses are designed following the Quality Standards for courses under Key Action 1 and participants are provided with certificates that meet the Europass criteria.

 

The participants must attend 80% of the course hours in order to receive their certificates.
