This course provides educators with the skills to implement project-based learning (PBL) effectively. Through a comprehensive five-day program,participants will explore the benefits of project-based learning, learn strategies for designing and implementing engaging projects, and discover how projects can seamlessly integrate with curriculum standards and subject areas.

Description

The course will cover critical aspects such as project planning and management, assessment techniques, technological integration, student motivation and engagement, differentiation, and showcasing project outcomes. By the end of this course, participants will be prepared with practical methods and resources to enhance student learning through project-based activities, promoting critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.                                                                                                       Day 1: Introduction to Project-Based Learning

  • Welcome and introductions
  • Sharing individual goals and setting expectations for the week
  • Ice-breaker activities and presentations of participants' educational backgrounds.
  • Overview of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and its role in education.
  • Discussion on the essential components of a successful PBL approach.

Day 2: Designing and Structuring PBL Experiences

  • Promote Cross-Curricular Connections: Enable educators to design projects that integrate multiple subjects, promoting a holistic approach to learning that connects various disciplines.
  • Build Capacity for Differentiated Instruction: Equip educators with strategies to tailor project-based learning experiences to meet diverse student needs, learning styles, and abilities.
  • Encourage Reflective Teaching Practices: Foster reflective practices among educators to continually evaluate and improve their approach to project-based learning.
  • Enhance Digital Competency: Develop educators' ability to leverage technology effectively in the classroom, using digital tools to support and extend project-based learning activities.
  • Cultivate a Growth Mindset in Learners: Support educators in creating a learning environment that encourages resilience, persistence, and a growth mindset among students during project-based activities.

Methodology & assessment

The course will utilize a range of interactive teaching methods, including workshops, group discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative tasks to enhance learning. Participants will engage in practical exercises that mirror real-world scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding of how to implement PBL effectively.

Assessment will be continuous and formative, focusing on participants’ contributions during sessions, their engagement in collaborative tasks, and their ability to design and present a PBL plan. Feedback will be provided throughout the course to support the professional growth of each participant.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants should bring their own laptops or tablets. 

 

All other necessary materials and resources are provided by our teacher training center to support a productive learning experience.

Certification details

Participants will receive an Attendance Certificate, which will be prepared in accordance with the Erasmus Quality Standards. Additionally, upon request, we can provide a Europass Mobility Certificate. This certificate serves as a valuable record of the skills and competencies acquired during the course, and it is recognized across Europe.
