Description

Are you a principal? The concept “Leading a future-creating school” refers to school leaders who have the future of the entire globe, its people and nature, in mind. Our course seeks to help school leaders understand the unique human capability to visualize a desirable future state of affairs, to work collaboratively and systematically for its realization, and to be able to develop their schools into arenas of creating the future, here and now.

Learning objectives

  • To gain an understanding of the historical turning point humanity has arrived at and its implications for the educational system.
  • To learn about various ways of conceptualizing the future, especially of future as something to be intentionally created.
  • To learn about the potential of schools to act as spaces for promoting personal and societal transformation.
  • To learn how to take charge of one’s personal and professional development as a globally good educational leader.
  • To learn how to take charge of one’s professional and personal development.
  • To gain an understanding of the nature of transformative development and learned relevant leadership qualities and skills.
  • To learn about how to create developmental visions and how to use these in helping teachers and students develop their transformative agency.
  • To reflect on various aspects of human nature in relation to fostering the holistic development of students as human beings and globally transformative agents.

Assessment:

The participant is expected to participate actively throughout the whole course programme in order to receive a course certficiate by the end of the course. The course certificate will confirm the participant's achievement of the stated course learning outomes.




Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Material and learning resources will be handed out and/or be retrievable for participants in a drop box file designated for this particular course. 

Certification details

The fulfillment of the course and the content of the participant's learning achievements will be confirmed in a course certificate signed by the course provider. The certificate will be signed by the course provider and the trainer/trainers stating the learning outcomes. It is required to participate actively during all five days, i.e. 100%. Europass can be signed on request.
