Course Description: Mental Health and Well-being for Teachers and Students: Creating Healthy and Strong Classroom Communities
Join our one-week Erasmus-funded course, Mental Health and Well-being for Teachers and Students: Creating Healthy and Strong Classroom Communities, held in the vibrant setting of Malta from Spring 2025 onwards. Designed for primary and secondary school teachers with a minimum B1 English level, this course equips educators with practical tools and strategies to foster mental health, resilience, and a supportive classroom environment for both themselves and their students.
Course Overview
Over five days (Sunday to Saturday, with 20 classroom-based lessons), participants will engage in interactive workshops, collaborative discussions, and hands-on activities to:

- Develop skills to support students transitioning from primary to secondary school, addressing challenges unique to this phase.
- Share knowledge on managing multilingual and multicultural classrooms, drawing on UK and Maltese educational contexts.
- Learn techniques to integrate generative AI tools to enhance critical thinking, language skills, and learner autonomy, while understanding their ethical implications.
- Create practical resources, such as lesson plans, mental health "first aid kits," and transition programs, to implement in their own schools.
