Description

This course supports elementary and secondary teachers as well as non-formal educators, equipping them with practical solutions and resources to teach through contexts tied to contemporary social issues. Through cultural activities and multisensory workshops, participants will explore art with local culture to create engaging experiences. A unique photovoice workshop introduces the potential of street art in education. By course end, participants gain innovative methods for integrating Humanistic Contextual Education (HCE) into humanities teaching, with ready-to-use lesson plans, worksheets, and mental games for student engagement. Implementing HCE enables students to develop key competences like civic competence and cultural awareness, discuss social challenges, enhance creativity, and understand the universal relevance of art. These approaches build an appreciation of cultural contexts, fostering active societal participation and community.
