IEM course seeks to analyze the philosophies behind the pedagogical models implemented in schools around the world and how they influence the teaching process, the teacher's role, and student training. The relevant factors in the development of the student will also be explored, which will allow the design of various activities and resources for the teaching staff.
Description
The fundamental problem of education is to answer the question of what kind of man and society is intended to form. Any conception, in turn, requires addressing and understanding the human being in all its multidimensionality and integrity, however, not always each theory has approached it in this way, and many times they have only taken into account one or some of the aspects of its formation, but, even so, in the way of doing it, there is an underlying position on man as an individual and as a social and cultural being.
From these dimensions, psychological, social and anthropological, pedagogical theories are usually elaborated. A pedagogical model, therefore, must take a certain position before the curriculum and that includes delimiting its most essential aspects: the purposes, the contents and their sequences, and providing the necessary instruments or mediators so that these can be put into practice. Learning objectives
- Comparing and contrasting Waldorf, Montessori,Reggio Emilia schools and cultural of thought.
- To discover the pedagogical practices that transform the classroom from the perspective of each of these four models.
Methodology & assessment
This course will be carried out through a combination of practical workshops and theoretical presentations.
The practical workshops will focus on activities that allow participants to apply the concepts learned in the course in the classroom. Participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals in this field and share their experiences and knowledge.
Theoretical presentations by experts will provide a solid understanding about the similarities and differences of these four philosophies in education.
Assessment:
The evaluation of the course will be based on demonstrating the ability to apply the concepts learned in the course by designing hands on activities and inspiring discussions on best practices.
In addition, a feedback form will be provided to participants at the end of the course to assess their satisfaction with the course content and the quality of teaching.
