
Inclusion - CLIL show me the way, gently 7 days in Dubrovnik
This course is aimed at teachers and school staff from primary to lower secondary education, company staff as well as students and all those who want to improve their fluency in English as well as refresh their methodology. The program aims to use CLIL as a tool of limited use, (soft CLIL) but very important in the effort for inclusion. Info and registrations @ info@pricalica.org.
Description
The course consists of 35 didactic hours and includes the following moduels:
- Introduction of participants, outline of the programme, warm ups and ice-breakers
- Introduction to key concepts, definitions and types of CLIL
- Integrating language skills and developing content, communicative, cognitive and cultural skills; choosing contexts
- Structuring an inclusive CLIL lesson, key features; simulation with the help of De Bono method and flipped classroom.
- Art as a stimulus for development of speaking and writing skills (Paolo Freire's approach).
- Cultural exchange
- Teambuilding and networking activities with a city tour or a cultural trip
- Individual support
- Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session

Learning objectives
- Familiarizing with key concepts and issues in CLIL methodology and inclusion.
- Improving the participants’ oral and written skills in English.
- Developing and/or improving skills in teaching target school subjects (hard CLIL) or parts of them (Soft CLIL) through English.
- Understanding the theoretical principles of CLIL, De Bono method (The six thinking hats), the flipped classroom and inclusion.
- Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.
- Boosting participants’ confidence in communication in English even their level is not very high.
- Highlighting the completely different inclusive environment that can create when we use CLIL, De Bono method and the flipped classroom.
- Enhancing understanding of the potential CLIL methodology has in education and how it can be used to enhance acquisition of a foreign language.
Methodology & assessment
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate complies with the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme and includes the topic, number of didactic hours, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants. In case. a participant requires a speciffic format of certificate we can accommodate that if requested at least one week before the start of the course.

The course fee includes tution and materials for the course. Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves.
