GAMIFICATION AND GAME-BASED LEARNING TECHNIQUES
Games are an ideal learning environment, with their built-in permission to fail, encouragement of out-of-box thinking, and sense of control. Game-Based Learning (GBL) can be used to improve both learning and teaching. That is including games in your education plan. Using game-based learning in the classroom helps engaging students by directly involving them in the learning process.
Description
Game Based Learning makes learning fun and engaging.Games provide a set of boundaries within a safe environment to explore, think, and try things out. Games give the motivation to succeed and reduce the sting of failure. All in all, games take teachers out of their traditional role as the centre of the classroom and the source of all classroom knowledge.
You will learn: In this course participants will learn how to make lessons more effective through the use of games elements. It will cover topics from theory to traditional games, role-playing games, tabletop games, digital and videogames.
