
Estonia’s PISA Success Story Uncovered
The course will take place within an educational institution in Tallinn. This enables participants to experience Estonian school life from within. The course will include opportunities to meet school staff, in some cases also classroom observation. Overall, the course will facilitate participants to gain deep insights into the measures driving Estonia's PISA success.
Description
The course is highly interactive. Course activities are based on a pre-course participant needs analysis and aim to model best teacher education practices. The working language is English. Materials are in English but participants in the past have included people using other CLIL languages. When several participants share a language other than English, they are welcome to use that language in working with and supporting each other. The course facilitator is an expert of bilingual education and Estonian school system.

The primary aim of the course is to provide opportunities for participants to gain deep insights into the measures driving Estonia’s PISA success story.
Methodology & assessment
In daily online reviews participants will assess the course activities and their progress. This will guide the facilitator(s) throughout the week.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All course materials will be accessible for participants in a course-specific drive folder during and after the course. Physical copies will be available in most activities. Some activities e.g. daily reviews will require use of smart phones.
Certification details
Certificates will include the course title, number of hours (30) and key contents / objectives and they are awarded to all on the last day of the course. Europass certificates will be issued on request.

Course package content:
The course fee covers the tuition and materials as well as all administrative costs before, during and after the course. Some field study activities may incur minor travel costs and entrance fee costs at est. 12€.

Cancellation & changes:
After registering online (completing the pre-course survey) and confirming participation by responding to an email from the course provider, the participant is expected to attend the course and responsible to paying the course fee. The invoices will be sent c. 7 weeks before the course starts. In case of illness or other unforeseen circumstances, the course fee can either be transferred to another person from the same project or returned to the payee with a deduction of 50€.
