This course for teachers of English provides a space for reflection on English Language Teaching allowing participants to explore and reflect on effective and innovative teaching practices that they may include into their repertoire. Through a variety of ELT approaches fostering communication and reflection participants will combine a pedagogical perspective with first-hand learner experience of English through practical activities resulting in the use and creation of effective resources for the English classroom. Many students today are exposed to more English than ever yet have difficulty reaching the basic aims of the curriculum. Finding a balance between the expectations of English language teaching and the reality of 21st century language learning is a challenge for many teachers of English. Making your teaching engaging and effective leads to learning that is realistic and relevant.

- To provide a space for reflection on English Language Teaching approaches and needs.
- To allow participants to incorporate innovative and effective ELT techniques into their repertoire
- To discover the potential of using a ‘Contexts4Content’ approach when developing teaching resources.
- Provide opportunities to interact with colleagues of other nationalities, and exchange ideas and experiences.
- Motivate participants to develop their communication skills through their participation in the course and as preparation for their involvement in future European experiences.
Methodology & assessment
Assessment will be carried out prior to the course by means of analysis of participants’ interests. During the course, oral and written reports will be completed to enhance participants’ learning. After the course, prospective partnerships might develop from the themes raised by the programme.
