
Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia Methods for Inclusive Teaching
Educational organizations involved in formal, non-formal and informal learning: schools, adult training centres, resource centres and other relevant organizations active in the adult education field established in Erasmus+ program countries
Description
The participants are teachers or adult trainers active in the sending organization interested in growing a creative and intercultural environment in their institutions, with or without previous experience, willing to develop themselves professionally not only through the course but by involving themselves in preparatory and follow-up activities. They must be interested in other cultures and in developing the institution’s European dimension.
Learning objectives
– Understand the needs of students SEN and find advantages and disadvantages of approaches such as inclusion, integration and integration to improve the quality of education and training for all learners.
– Differentiate between truths and some wide-spread myths in connection with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia; Define some basic concepts in connection with specific learning for these difficulties;
– Describe learning situations from the perspective of SEN students;
– Identify possible signs (both strengths and weaknesses) of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia in their classrooms;
– Build a toolkit of practical teaching ideas for all areas of language learning to help dyslexic language learners;
– Analyze current coursebook units to identify what accommodations need to be made;
– Adapt coursebook tasks to suit a group of learners with dyslexic students among them
– Develop SEN students’ learning autonomy through a self-directed hands-on learning approach, develop the student’s prior knowledge, trigger effective use of arguments and evidence, and use questions as a learning tool.
– Implement and evaluate appropriate action strategies according to the needs of SEN students, to prevent bias, school dropout and antisocial behavior of students.
– To encourage the exploration of obstacles and limitations faced by students with disabilities in the education system.
– Get techniques to work with classrooms and diverse communities, cope with the increased diversity of SEN learners, and support the inclusion of different minorities in mainstream education.
