
CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ACTION (RELATING PAST TO PRESENT THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, STUDY VISITS AND SIMULATIONS) 10 DAYS
This course is aimed at teachers and all those who want to broaden their understanding of cultural heritage as an expression of values, beliefs, knowledge and traditions and learn how to use cultural heritage as a resource for teaching. Participants are expected to have at least B1 level of English proficiency.
Description
The course consists of 50 didactic hours and includes the following modules:
- Introduction of participants, outline of the programme, warm ups and ice breakers
- Cultural heritage as an expression of values, beliefs, knowledge and traditions
- Cultural identity and cultural community, tangible and intangible cultural heritage
- Field trip to a cultural heritage site
- Tangible and intangible cultural heritage as resources for learning about the world and oneself
- Study visit to a cultural heritage site
- Learning about the values, beliefs, knowledge and traditions referred in the study visit through simulations and re-enactments
- Inquiry based learning approach to study cultural heritage
- Learning about cultural heritage and values, beliefs, knowledge and traditions it represents through media production projects
- Individual support
- Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session
- Teambuilding and networking activities
- City tour or a cultural trip
Learning objectives
- Providing insight into tangible and intangible cultural heritage of all the participants and the destination of the course.
- Understanding of cultural heritage as an expression of values, beliefs, knowledge and traditions.
- Understanding of cultural identity and cultural community, how they are shaped and how they impact social interactions.
- Facilitating the use cultural heritage as a resource for teaching about and through cultural heritage.
- Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.
- Providing and exercising creative ideas and practical resources for successful and dynamic integration of cultural heritage in education.
- Improving English fluency (official language of the course).
- Promoting intercultural awareness.
- Sharing experiences of integration of cultural heritage from different organizations in order to help each of us to be more effective in our work.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate includes the topic, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tution and materials for the course as well as admission tickets and local transportation for the activities that are included in the course programme. Accommodation, meals and transportation (other than specified in the course programme e.g. hotel or aiport pick up etc.) are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves. We do not charge anything extra apart from the 800 EUR course fee.

Cancellation & changes:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course. In case of extraordinary circumstances we will offer a free re-schedualing to be used within 6 months.
