Building School—Company Partnerships

The skills we need to live and work are changing. Digital technologies are driving fundamental changes in the economy and society. At the same time, global warming and environmental degradation are also driving changes in industries in the products and services they provide and how they produce them; these are increasingly affecting jobs and skills.

Description

How can we bridge these skills gaps and better prepare students for the future workforce and for a more sustainable economy and society?

In this course, we will discuss how partnerships between schools and companies can improve the understanding of the workforce’s needs, bridge the gap between work skills and school lessons and improve careers awareness. We explore how the workplace can add value to teaching and learning and help students develop not just the skills they will need to ensure their employability in future but the essential life skills they will need to thrive in societies shaped by the green and digital transitions.
