
BROADENING HORIZONS THROUGH OUTDOOR LEARNING 10 DAYS
This course is aimed at teachers and school staff from pre-school level to primary, secondary, vocational, adult and special needs education, staff of non-government organizations, government and policy makers and company staff as well as students and all those who want to experience and learn how to plan and carry out outdoor learning.
Description
The course consists of 50 didactic hours and includes the following modules:
- Introduction of participants, outline of the programme, warm ups and ice breakers
- Preparations for outdoor learning, safe management of outdoor learning
- Experiential and environmental education
- Field trip 1: cross-curricular, numeracy, literacy and science outdoors – learning from the natural world
- Field trip 2: development of sensory awareness, problem solving and team work skills in the wild
- Inquiry-based outdoor learning project with a documentary video production
- Planning, design and preparation of outdoor educational activities in different contexts
- Individual support
- Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session
- Teambuilding and networking activities
- City tour or a cultural trip
Learning objectives
- Familiarizing with the principles and practices of outdoor learning.
- Learning about the necessary preparations and safe management of outdoor learning.
- Integrating cross-curricular, numeracy, literacy and science learning outdoors.
- Integrating development of sensory awareness, problem solving and team work skills in outdoor learning.
- Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.
- Improving English fluency (official language of the course).
- Promoting intercultural awareness.
- Sharing experiences of outdoor learning from different organizations in order to help each of us to be more effective in our work.
- Strengthening the European collaboration among people practicing outdoor learning in different contexts.
- Providing insights into different education systems.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate includes the topic, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tution and materials for the course as well as local transportation for study visits and admission tickets. Accommodation, meals and transportation (other than the study visits) are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves. We do not charge anything extra apart from the 800 EUR course fee.

Cancellation & changes:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course. In case of extraordinary circumstances we will offer a free re-schedualing to be used within 6 months.
