Description

This course teaches educators how to use robotics and programming as strategies to improve reading comprehension and storytelling. Participants will learn to:

✅ Create interactive reading activities, where robots bring stories to life.

✅ Apply computational thinking and programming to develop interactive storytelling.

✅ Foster creativity, allowing students to design and program their own literary characters.

✅ Integrate different levels of programming, from screen-free computational thinking for younger students to sensor-based programming for older students.

✅ Use AI to create educational materials, generating customized resources for classroom use.

✅ Learn basic robotics, understanding how to program different electronic components.

✅ Turn reading into a gamified experience, motivating students and improving comprehension skills.

The robots used include Cubetto for early childhood education and ARTEC robotics kits for primary students. This course is ideal for language and literature classes

Learning objectives

The goal of this course is to enhance reading comprehension through robotics and programming, providing practical tools to transform reading into
an interactive experience.

By the end of the course, teachers will be able to:

- Design gamified reading activities, using robots to reenact stories.

- Motivate students through interactive challenges with robotics.

- Develop computational thinking, linking it to reading comprehension.

- Learn to program robots and use sensors and electronic components in classroom projects.

- Apply AI to generate educational materials, making it easier to integrate robotics into the curriculum.

- Create interactive narratives and literacy projects with robotics, adapting the content to different educational levels.

- The knowledge gained in this course will allow teachers to implement these projects in their classrooms and enhance reading instruction through innovative technology.

Methodology & assessment

Methodology

The course follows a hands-on, gamified approach, where teachers will experiment with robotics to transform reading into an interactive process.

✅ Programming and building robots, applied to storytelling and reading comprehension.

✅ Creating materials with artificial intelligence, to enhance reading experiences.

✅ Workshops on robotics and 3D printing, to personalize and adapt robots to each story.

✅ Mixed learning approach: group storytelling analysis and individual robot programming.

✅ Gamification and project-based learning, equipping teachers with strategies to engage students in reading.

Assessment

📌 Creation of an original story using AI, generating text and images for classroom use.

📌 Development of a robotic storytelling project, with different levels of programming complexity.

📌 Creation of a teaching portfolio, with ready-to-use lesson plans and activities.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

📌 Educational robots: Cubetto (early childhood) and ARTEC robotics kits (primary education).

📌 Programming software, adapted to different educational levels.

📌 Books and storytelling resources, used to enhance reading comprehension with robotics.

📌 3D printing: Modeling and customization of props to enhance storytelling.

📌 Digital and physical educational resources, including templates, interactive worksheets, and video tutorials.

📌 Materials available in both printed and digital formats.

Certification details

Participants will receive two official certificates upon successful completion of the course:

✅ Interobotics Certificate: A formal certificate issued by Interobotics, detailing the course content, learning objectives, and acquired
competencies.

✅ Europass Mobility Certificate: An official EU-recognized document validating the skills and knowledge gained during the training.

Both certificates serve as valuable recognition of professional development in educational and professional contexts.
