In this workshop, participants will explore the theories, principles and best practices of utilizing arts-based learning perspectives.
Learning objectives
This supports teachers to find out their creative capacity to apply arts-based learning activities in the classroom for developing creative curriculum skills (science, language and art courses). Participants will experience art-based activities both practically and theoretically during this enjoyable workshop, and explore the creative potential of arts integration in classroom. The activities will be grouped in mainly 3 categories of arts:
1) performative arts (music, dance, creative drama, play and drama in education, theatre),
2) visual arts (drawing, photography, comics, sculptures, paintings, culinary arts),
3) literary arts (storytelling, scriptwriting, rhetoric, poetry, fiction and non-fiction narratives).
In our modern education system arts-based learning solutions are powerful vehicles for classroom management, especially for differentiated teaching and learning strategies. Main aim of this workshop is to allow the teachers to taste personally the creative, healing and joyful nature of the arts involvement before applying them in their classrooms. Creative arts-based methods are magically crucial tools for the teachers to build cheerful, inclusive, and interactive learning environments. Moreover, the workshop also includes practices to empower the participants as artful teachers by developing their creative communication skills.
We would like to warn about the side-effects of all arts-based activities in this workshop, because they can leave severely positive attitudes and paradoxically apparent smiles on your faces. Let’s play together!
