Art-therapy: a powerful therapeutic tool
Art therapy is a discipline that makes use of the graphic-plastic arts and is intended to be a tool for the reconstruction of the person's identity and balance; it is an experience that involves all the senses and allows the most emotional aspects to be connected with the logic of thought; it enhances self-esteem, improvesself-image and the relationship with others.
Description
Creativity, in fact, is closely related to vitality. The moment a person paints or creates, he or she is deeply immersed in the act of existing, of being alive. This experience of total freedom, which can be rare in daily life, becomes a source of renewal and personal growth. Art therapy not only promotes healing from emotional wounds, but also develops the latent potential of each individual, offering new perspectives and tools for dealing with life's challenges. In short, it is a profoundly transformative experience that, through art, leads to the rediscovery of one's potential, improving the quality of life and the relationship with oneself and others.

Learning objectives
Through artistic work something very important takes place: the person implements a recognition of himself and his presence that can leave a trace. Moreover, at the moment when feelings and emotions are translated into the artistic object, a deeper process of self-understanding takes place. Being able to depict images, feelings and emotions by expressing them symbolically in a concrete visual form allows one to be able to observe them as something detached from oneself. Here then, even in the most suffering-laden images, a space for understanding and processing is created that can be of help to the individual in the search for new ways of interaction between his or her internal world and the external relational world.
