20 lessons course runs for 5 days, consisting of seminars, and workshops.
Minimum Level of English B2.
Description
This course provides a professional development opportunity for participants which aims to enhance their approach to both writing and presenting for an academic audience. Through group and project work participants are invited to share knowledge and skills acquired with their colleagues. The opportunity to experience new cultural contexts and network with international colleagues is a further positive outcome. The programme includes a full-day cultural tour to a local area of scenic and heritage value, a guided historical walking tour of Galway city, and afternoon social and cultural activities.

• Improve written competence in Academic English for both publications and presentations.
• Effective writing strategies for academic articles; increasing vocabulary, improving structure, register and style.
• Feedback on samples of your own academic writing.
• Planning and structuring a presentation – introductions, conclusions.
• Holding your audience – verbal signals, effective transitions, handling questions

Suitable for: Professors, lecturers, teachers or doctoral students – who need to publish or present their work in English.
