Why is internet safety crucial for our students' safety?

Teaching responsible digital citizenship is crucial in today’s technology-driven society. It equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to safely and ethically navigate the digital world. In an era where so much of our lives takes place online, students must learn how to protect their privacy, identify credible sources, and address issues like misinformation and cyberbullying. By fostering an understanding of the impact and consequences of online actions, we promote a culture of respect, empathy, and accountability.

It also prepares students to engage constructively in online discussions, become critical thinkers, and make informed decisions and empowers them to use technology positively, advocating for digital literacy, ethical behaviour, and active participation in the digital world.

By learning to harness digital tools responsibly, students can drive positive change in their communities and beyond. Ultimately, responsible digital citizenship cultivates well-rounded, informed, and empowered individuals who can thrive in the digital age and contribute to a safer and more ethical online environment.

The project will ensure the following activities are done:

  • Consent forms signed by parents.
  • Netiquette suggestions per partner school.
  • Collaborative activity of netiquette rules.
  • Assessmenet quiz of nettiquette.
