Using IT in teaching foreign languages

This project is will bring together teachers from Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark and Finland in order to strengthen and develop educational cooperation, share experience about Using IT in Foreign Language classroom, make a research of current situation concerning the topic in four countries, work out methodological materials (lesson plans and tests) together and start implementing them in four different schools. Besides these aims, students and teachers will learn about Nordic-Baltic countries and promote mutual Nordic- Baltic cultural understanding. The partnership is based on a need to improve the quality of teaching/learning foreign languages, motivate learners to learn foreign languages, make learners interested in education, prevent drop-outs. As the use of IT becomes an essential part of people's everyday lives, IT is developing very fast, new IT devices appear (e.g. Ipads, Iphones, etc.), information technologies and devices can also be used as a teaching/learning tool in foreign language classroom. The project will seek to exchange understanding, experience and knowledge between staff and develop new ideas to improve teaching/learning foreign languages with the help of IT.
