SOCIAL MEDIA AND WELL BEING: Is it true?- Is it safe?

SOCIAL MEDIA AND WELL BEING: Is it true?- Is it safe? How well do you know the effect of social media on well-being? Every day, billions of people use social media. Although social media have provided us with access to more information than ever before, their use has both positive and negative effects on our mental health. In the past, we depended on reliable journalists, media organizations, and sources who were bound by ethical principles. However, the internet has made it possible to publish, share, and consume news and information in a completely new way with hardly any restrictions or editorial guidelines. Nowadays, a lot of people get their news from social media networks and websites, and it can frequently be challenging to determine whether a story is credible or not. An increase in fake news or hoax stories has also been attributed to heaps of information and a general lack of understanding by people of how the internet functions. In this project, we will analyze how the use of social media significantly impacts mental health and why using social media responsibly is crucial.

24/4/2024 our online students' meeting

Within the framework of the eTwinning project “Social Media and Well-being. Is it true? Is it safe?” Students met with their peers with whom they have been working in transnational groups since November 2023 in a project that examines the impact of social media on their physical and mental health. The students spoke enthusiastically about their eTwinning experience and agreed the 2 most fun activities were the video chat room and making a poster for their digital footprint. In this atmosphere of excitement, joy, and between applause and laughter, the students expressed their feelings about eTwinning by creating a word cloud. With these partnerships, eTwinning connects schools and promotes the creation of international bonds and friendships. Many thanks to our wonderful partners: Funda Acar Gunay, Maria Grazia Aloi, Giovanna Agrillo, Olimpia Abruñedo, Katarzyna Wilkanowicz, Daniela Ilie, and Pamfilia Dumitraskou, and the 108 students participating in the project! Together we are preparing responsible European citizens for the global society of the 21st century!

Greek nominations for our Logo Competition

Greek nominations for logo competition

The participation of students in logo design competitions for their programs holds particular significance as it encourages creativity and thinking beyond conventional norms. Regarding democracy, it can teach students how decisions are made through the democratic voting process.

Congratulations to all students for their effort! May the best logo win!
