PAX ROMANA

Pax Romana or “Roman peace” is the general name of the period of peace, order and stability in the Roman Empire that started with the empire of Augustus in 27 BC and lasted for approximately 200 years. This period of peace, when the age of culture and art reached its peak, left many legacies in terms of history, architecture and literature. The works of many famous writers and artists appeared during this period; Important structures such as the Pantheon, Colosseum and Forum Romanum were built during this period. Realistic portraits and mythological images were made; Roman houses are decorated with mosaics and frescoes. The Roman Empire hosted different nations and religions in wide geographical areas for many years. People who once lived in peace and love in these lands migrated to eternity and left their legacy to future generations in happiness and peace. Many works of this huge empire, whose heart is in Rome, are still alive today, from the alphabet to the calendar, from proverbs to architecture. Now it is our turn to take care of these relics and protect them.
