The project : Legends, Myths, Fairytales and Culture in Europe; is a partnership encompassing nine countries: United Kingdom (Scotland), Cyprus, Spain, Romania, France, Poland, Germany, Hungary, and Greece. The pupils will be 3 to 12 years old. The main aim of our project will be to let the students learn their cultural heritage, and the cultural heritage of the other European countries, and understand its importance, respect it, and learn through similarities and differences. We will encourage a genuine respect for our cultures and embed the principles of diversity in all the participants – pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community. By promoting cooperation between European schools we will strengthen the bonds of the European family. We will study local legends, myths, and fairytales through three activities which will progress simultaneously; the introduction (acquaintance of countries and cultures), the preliminary exercise (presentation of cultural stories} and the creation of a new, unique “European fairytale”.
