Mathematics literate

There can be no science without mathematics, no technology without science, and an individual who has not acquired basic mathematical knowledge and skills will have various problems in continuing his life, in freedom and in the lifelong learning process. Children and young people learn mathematics and be aware of mathematical thoughts, but only through verbal, numerical, visual, symbolic and written communication in Mathematics. As a matter of fact, "mathematics for all", "mathematics literacy" and "strengthening in mathematics" have become the main target to be reached in education and the field of education and research that every society should invest in, beyond being a slogan today. In this review, the reasons for change in the context of mathematical literacy, new goals, skills to be developed and skills to be acquired are explained, and calls are made for change and transformation.
