Erasmus+: Sports, Society, History, and Politics

The project explores the interplay between the areas of sports and society across different countries and cultures. Students from France and Germany are examining how sport, as a cultural phenomenon, has influenced both the history and political structures of a country and vice versa. The project also touches on historical developments in the field of sports that emerged within specific political contexts, such as those linked to nationalist movements or significant historical events. Additionally, students analyze how sport serves as a medium for political messages, particularly in (international) competitions like the Olympic Games. The project also facilitates the exchange of best practices among partner countries, demonstrating how sports can promote tolerance, integration, and social values. Through workshops, discussions, and joint events, students share their insights and learn from each other, leading to a deeper understanding of the cultural and political dimensions of sports. The eTwinning project will document the two on-site meetings. Students create presentations of the results they find together.
