Environmental Education and Antarctica

The project's main objective is to promote educational environmental education practices, aiming to protect the planet's environment. It also aims to make Antarctica known as a protected territory for scientific research.Throughout the development of the project we will promote the celebration of days linked to the protection of the seas and Antarctica, as well as developing the scientific, artistic and ecological spirit with the students.  In addition to research related to the themes, we will produce a flag for Antarctica, publicizing research and associated educational practices. We will produce a collaborative story and its virtual presentation. Seek to value waste by reusing it in artistic productions.

We connect with Antarctica and experience its icy environment.

From CEIP Emilia Pardo Bazán (A Coruña-Spain) we designed a virtual trip to Antarctica.

We fostered a spirit of adventure, curiosity to discover new worlds, and the ability to confront potential challenges.
We recreated a base camp with an Arctic igloo. Students became little explorers, and we bundled up to explore these icy lands.

We discuss interesting facts about this frozen territory and see the differences.
We reflect on our equipment and the sensations we experience as we imaginarily enter Antarctica.
We pause for reflection to discuss how they feel and what they think real explorers would feel.
