THE EFFECT OF CLIL METHOD IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

Content and language integrated learning (CLIL) is the use of mother tongue and foreign language together during the teaching of the courses in the curriculum, that is, the target language is taught in an integrated manner with other courses. The aim of the CLIL technique is to teach children the subject and the language at the same time. With this technique, while improving the vocabulary of the students, their motivation to learn a foreign language is also increased. The main goal to be achieved at the end of the project; It is planned that teachers will have theoretical knowledge about the CLIL technique and in line with this knowledge, they will use this technique in lessons other than foreign language teaching lessons and share this technique with teachers in other institutions, starting from their own institutions. In line with this plan, students are also expected to learn and develop the target language in accordance with the course outcomes within the curriculum. This project allows students to learn a foreign language as well as learn about many subjects. Therefore, teachers help students learn both language skills and content topics.
