Educating for Sustainability

Sustainable development aims to preserve the planet and meet human needs. This means that a natural resource exploited in a sustainable way will last forever and with conditions to also be exploited by future generations. However, it is known that there is still a lot of work to be done in this area, and it is essential to start a process of learning and raising awareness among the youngest, so that we do not continue in a society at risk in environmental terms. There is an urgent need to change attitudes and behaviors. This project intends to involve students, actively and consciously, in a fundamental theme for their present and future well-being, leading them to act responsibly, thinking that every attitude and change contributes to achieving a sustainable future. The project will be divided into three major themes: Food Sustainability; Environmental Sustainability and Social Sustainability. The project is transversal to the various areas of competence covered in the Student Profile on Leaving Compulsory Schooling, also covering the principles explained in the same guiding document, such as the humanist principle, learning, inclusion and sustainability
